GUY & SIMONE
Helderberg Farm, Somerset West

Guy & Simone first met in their matric year in 2010 – It all started with them hooking arm-in-arm while watching one of the world cup games at the Cape Town fan park. They quickly realised that they both shared a unique love for adventure and soon became best friends, their relationship growing over spontaneous movie dates and camping trips. They spent most of their university years apart, but – as the saying goes: absence makes the heart grow fonder – the small spark grew into something much greater.

Almost seven years to the day, they were arm-in-arm again, surrounded by friends & family and under the open tree tops, becoming husband & wife. I absolutely loved the beautiful simplicity and genuineness of this couple’s wedding day. They had some classic white bunting strung between the trees for the ceremony and bare wood tables with candles and flowers for the reception. Not much decor is needed when you have a breathtaking forest as a starting point! It all felt so natural and unforced – just as love should be. Simone looked like a forest fairy princess, with flowers in her loose hair and gorgeous flowing gown. I also just loved the bridesmaids’ style – bold and bright, perfectly complimenting the bride in white.

We had an amazing time chasing the golden sunset light through the forest and surrounding fields before joining the candlelit party. Guests enjoyed some delicious gourmet burgers from Hemazing and coffee from the Terbadore stall. The whole evening celebration felt like an intimate festival, ending with dancing under the stars.

Wishing you two sweet humans many happy years together!
