‘We return to each other in waves. This is how water loves’

This is the story of how a Russian bear and a blue-eyed mermaid fell in love. They may have lost each other for a time but they never forgot. After years of wandering past each other they found their way back together, and after a second first kiss, their hearts made up their minds and they knew this was their forever love.

Both creatives (Max the deep thinker, Nicky the wild one) are also nature lovers which made getting married at De Uijlenes an obvious choice. Here the couple got a bit of everything: rustic bohemian charm, wide open spaces, a little patch of vineyards, a lake, animals, and of course a romantic fairy forest – because what’s a good fairytale without a fairy forest!

It was a beautifully laid-back occasion, the perfect atmosphere to fully enjoy the day with friends and family, from a snack in the forest to dinner in the barn, a drink on the dance floor to marshmallows around the fire. The bride and groom themselves also had a beautifully relaxed style, Nicky with her loose curls and Max with his rolled up sleeves.
