WIHAN & LISAYou might say the start of Lisa & Wihan’s love story is typical for a 21st century single – they met in a bar and connected over Facebook. But soon they discovered they were dealing with something different, something unique.
Fast forward a few months and there was Wihan with his guitar, the night before their wedding, singing to Lisa a song he wrote for her. Can you get any more romantic!?
The next day, weather was what you would expect on a June afternoon in the Western Cape – cold and cloudy. And though some would call this ‘gloomy’ for a wedding day, I’d call it moody and it suited these two perfectly. Their bridal party was dressed all in black and fitted the scene.
During the morning’s preparations, there came a moment when Lisa was beside herself with excitement and was hurrying everyone up so she could go and marry the man of her dreams. As she made her way down the aisle to Biffy Clyro’s ‘Re-arrange’ and Wihan caught sight of her white dress – he completely lost it. Tears of joy, relief, disbelief and wonder as his bride stood by his side.
After a beautiful ceremony under a canopy of winter branches we set out for some photos. Normally I’d feel a bit sorry for making the couple stand and kiss in the cold for so long, but I knew these two put others through the same suffering so I didn’t feel too bad! Braving the wind and climbing boulders is always worth it.
We got inside to a cozy reception area and sat down to enjoy a delicious wintery meal. There was only one way to keep warm as the rain started to pour – to keep the dance floor packed! Reliable sources tell me that the celebration continued until late that night.
Mr & Mrs Mouton – it was a joy an privilege to capture your wedding day!
